Here’s the deal with Malmö Redhawks, the last three seasons they’ve been playing in the Swedish second division, and of course the goal has been to advance to the top division, especially now since they’ve got a new, modern and huge arena to play in. So, with this in mind, the 08/09-season would and should’ve been the season they got back in the swedish elitserie! But it didn’t really go as planned, the results on the ice were really poor, and in the beginning of ‘09 they shredded all their players contracts and was threatened with bankruptcy. But then something beautiful happened, when the “big” names left the club they were forced to use their own products. Young and hungry players which helped turn this potentially bad situation into something really good. In the end they didn’t reach the play-offs, they fell on the finish-line with only one point away from making it. But that really didn’t matter, because we got our club back and we got players with hearts!
